Mesh & Moss / Legal
Standard license
One license for personal work and commercial projects. Buy an asset once, make it your own, and keep the release you purchased.
1. What you are licensing
This license describes the rights offered by Mesh & Moss (“we”, “us”) to the person or legal entity purchasing an asset (“you”). An asset includes the models, textures, materials, and other files listed as part of the purchased release. Preview images and items shown for illustration are included only when the product listing says so.
The intended licensor is Trivomesh Limited, whose UK incorporation is pending. This is proposed wording for use after incorporation and confirmation of the seller details in our terms of sale; it does not grant a license on behalf of an unincorporated company.
You receive a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use that release, subject to these conditions and payment of the purchase price. The asset is licensed, not sold: ownership of the underlying intellectual property remains with us or the relevant rights holders.
2. What you can do
- Use and modify assets in unlimited personal and commercial projects, including games, films, animation, renders, visualisations, websites, and advertising.
- Change geometry, topology, textures, materials, and file formats to suit your workflow, and keep reasonable working and backup copies.
- Sell or distribute finished work that incorporates an asset, provided the asset is part of a wider creative work and is not supplied as a reusable asset or source-file download.
- Use assets in paid client work. No attribution, per-project fee, revenue share, or additional royalty is required under this license.
For example, you can sell a game containing our woodland props or deliver a rendered scene to a client. You cannot sell those props as another downloadable model pack, even after changing their colours or geometry.
3. Teams and client work
If you purchase on behalf of a company, you must be authorised to bind that company. Its employees and contractors may access the files only to work on that company's projects, under obligations consistent with this license. You remain responsible for their use and must remove their access when their work ends.
Clients may use the finished project you deliver. If a client needs the reusable source asset to edit independently or create other projects, they must purchase their own license. A shared studio account or client handoff must not become a general asset library for unrelated businesses.
4. What is not permitted
- Reselling, giving away, sublicensing, or redistributing the source files, including modified versions, as standalone assets, stock content, templates, asset packs, or public repositories.
- Making the files available through shared download links, an asset extraction feature, or a service whose main purpose is to let others download or reuse the asset.
- Claiming exclusive ownership of the original asset, registering it as your trademark, or implying that Mesh & Moss endorses your project.
- Using the asset unlawfully or in a way that infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
When distributing a game or application, use reasonable packaging and access controls to prevent straightforward reuse of the source files. We do not require you to guarantee that extraction is technically impossible.
5. Your purchased release
Your purchase covers the specific release described at checkout. Future packs, expanded editions, and later releases are not automatically included unless the listing expressly promises them. This does not limit any updates or remedies we must provide under consumer law.
Keep a local backup of your downloads. A perpetual right to use the purchased files does not mean a promise of uninterrupted hosting forever. Any change to download availability remains subject to our delivery obligations and your statutory rights.
6. Compatibility and other rights
Check the product's stated formats, software requirements, and included files before buying. Compatibility with every tool, engine, or future software version is not promised. Rights in third-party trademarks, software, or other separately identified materials are not granted by this license; any applicable notices remain in force.
Nothing here excludes your rights if the asset is faulty, not supplied, or materially different from its description. See our terms of sale for remedies.
7. Breach, refunds, and changes
If you materially breach this license, we may require you to stop the breach and, where it can be remedied, give you a reasonable opportunity to do so. If it is not remedied, or cannot be remedied, we may terminate the affected license as permitted by law. You must then stop using and distributing the asset and delete copies under your control.
If a purchase is fully refunded and its contract cancelled, the related license ends unless we agree otherwise or the law requires a different outcome. A partial price reduction does not itself end your license. Blocking future downloads cannot remove files already downloaded.
Changes apply to future purchases; they do not retrospectively reduce rights already granted. The license version recorded with a purchase governs that purchase. This review draft does not replace an existing purchase-specific license, including when reached through a versioned link.
